Contractor Licensing

Texas does not issue a state license for insulation or spray foam work, but contractor registration here is set at the municipal level and many cities do require any contractor working in the city to register. Product and manufacturer names on this site belong to their owners, and their use does not imply any affiliation, dealership, approved-applicator or certified-installer status. Work adjacent to insulation does belong to separately licensed trades: altering, replacing or rebalancing a duct system is the work of a licensed air conditioning contractor, and moving a line is the work of a licensed plumber. Energy Savings and Performance

Insulation reduces heat transfer and air leakage, and that usually shows up on an energy bill. How much depends on the building, the existing envelope, the equipment, the weather and how the household lives in the house, and no one can know it in advance. Spray polyurethane foam is installed by a chemical reaction between two components, and correct installation matters: controlled thickness per pass, the manufacturer's ratio and temperatures, mechanical ventilation during application and cure, and a re-entry window we state in writing for your job, typically twenty-four to forty-eight hours. We describe that process so you can hold any installer to it, including us. Nothing on this website is a health, medical or indoor-air-quality claim, and we do not represent that any product is non-toxic, chemical-free or free of odour. If anyone in the household has a respiratory condition or a chemical sensitivity, raise it before the work is scheduled and consult a physician.

Moisture, Mold and Existing Conditions

We do not spray foam over a wet, contaminated or actively leaking surface, and we will say so rather than take the job. Where we find moisture we describe what we saw and what we believe is causing it; that is an observation by an insulation contractor, not a diagnosis. We do not provide mold testing, mold assessment or mold remediation, which are separately regulated in a number of states and are referred to licensed professionals. Vermiculite may contain asbestos: we do not disturb, remove or test it, and we recommend sampling by a licensed asbestos professional through an accredited laboratory before anything is done in that space. Rodent decontamination, attic sanitising and full crawl space encapsulation are separate trades and are not services we perform.

Warranties and Code

Any warranty we give covers our workmanship, for the period and on the terms set out in the written contract for your specific project. Manufacturer system warranties exist in this industry, and we claim none unless the signed contract names one. Nothing on this website is a warranty, and no work described here carries a lifetime warranty. Foam installed in an occupied or accessible space normally requires an ignition barrier or a thermal barrier, and which one applies is set by the code in force at your address and by the building official, not by us. Quantities and price are measured on site at the board foot after access and existing thickness are seen; any figure shown on this website is an indicative starting range, never a quotation and never a settled price per square foot or per board foot.
